it's ... sunny

The clouds lifted and I feel much less claustrophobic. Yep! The sun is shining. Mount Rainier is covered in snow. The Cascades look beautiful. And I need to fix my skis. Last winter when I went home for Christmas I didn’t ski because I got really sick. When I got back to Colorado and unloaded my skis—my binding was flat against my ski, the metal was bent and cut in a few places and the screws were torn out. I don’t know what happened—but it happened between Denver and Boston. I called United but they said unless I had shown someone immediately after claiming my skis at baggage they couldn’t be held responsible. Anger! I learned an important lesson: check your skis right away or you will pay—thanks United and your not-so-friendly skies.
